Avocado Tree

So, I've been trying to help my tree grow even a stem, but it's hard to do that! There is a little line that's popping out of the avocado pit which might be a root, so me and my mom think that that might come out and grow leaves. I think that the leaves will grow in a year. I took a picture yesterday of the avocado, so you could see.
